Holger Rune, ATP Newcomer of the Year

Holger Rune is the winner of the category voted directly by the players: the ATP Newcomer Player of the Year award.

The Danish prodigy started the season outside the Top 100 and has finished the season ranked No. 11 in the world. This year he registered an unforgettable week at the Paris Bercy Masters 1000 when he beat five Top 10 players en route to the title and defeated Novak Djokovic in the final. He also won his first ATP Tour title in Munich, two days after his 19th birthday, and defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas for the first time in the Roland Garros quarter-finals to do it again in the Stockholm Open final.

“This means a lot to me. I’ve worked really hard all year to do my best, and it’s great to see that my teammates have voted for me. I hope 2023 will be another great year,” he told the official ATP website.
