The 2024 European Open, organized by Tennium, has been a massive success, breaking attendance records and offering an unforgettable week of top-tier tennis in Belgium. The tournament culminated in a thrilling final where Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut triumphed over Czech Jiri Lehecka in two sets (7-5, 6-1) to claim the singles title. This victory marks Bautista Agut’s twelfth ATP title, adding to his illustrious career at the age of 36.

Bautista Agut’s path to the title was impressive, notably defeating third seed Félix Auger-Aliassime in earlier rounds. Lehecka, on the other hand, had eliminated tournament favorite and second seed Stefanos Tsitsipás before facing Bautista Agut in the final. Although Lehecka initially showed strong resistance, Bautista Agut’s experience and resilience shone through as he secured the win.

In the doubles event, the Austrian pair of Erler and Miedler took home the trophy after a hard-fought victory over the American-Kazakh duo Galloway and Nedovyesov. After splitting the first two sets, the match was decided by a super tiebreak, with Erler and Miedler emerging victorious (10-8), claiming their sixth ATP doubles title.

Kristoff Puelinckx, CEO of Tennium, expressed his pride in the event’s success: “We’ve witnessed a fantastic tournament with top players and an incredible atmosphere. The final between Bautista Agut and Lehecka was a true highlight, showcasing the talent and competitiveness of both the old and new guard.”
