Crèdit Andorrà Open: the first WTA 125 in Andorra arrives with Tennium

The Crèdit Andorrà Open, organised by Tennium, will bring the best international tennis to the Principality: the first women’s WTA 125 in the country’s history. The tournament will take place from 28 November to 4 December at the Poliesportiu d’Andorra.

The $125,000 prize is up for grabs and Victoria Jiménez Kasintseva, a promising Andorran tennis star, will be the tournament’s ambassador. At only 17 years of age, she is already number 147 in the WTA ranking and has several titles to her name, including the Australian Open Junior and Europe Junior.

This project aims to consolidate itself as a key date in the WTA calendar and has the support of Crèdit Andorrà, the tournament’s main sponsor, and the commitment of public bodies such as the Government of Andorra and the Comú d’Andorra la Vella.

Enric Molina, partner of Tennium and CEO of the tournament, expressed his satisfaction at being able to hold this tournament, stressing that the dream of organising a top-level professional tournament in Andorra will come true and that the main objective is for it to be “an event that transcends beyond sport, involving itself in the social sphere and serving as a platform for Andorran sport and leaving a legacy in the country.

Tickets will go on sale on Tuesday 11 October on the tournament’s official website: andorraopenwta.com.
