This is an absolute highlight that will thrill all tennis fans in Germany and especially in Hamburg: Jannik Sinner has confirmed his participation at the Hamburg Open (17 – 24 May 2025). The world number one will be playing at Rothenbaum for the first time in his career and his participation will be icing on the cake to the already top-ranked player field of the prestigious ATP 500 tournament. Before Sinner, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Holger Rune, Andrey Rublev, Gael Monfils and the Germans Jan-Lennard Struff and star duo Krawietz-Puetz had already confirmed their participation. Absolute world-class tennis is therefore guaranteed.
The 23-year-old Sinner last won the Australian Open in January for a total of three Grand Slam victories to his name. His nineteen ATP title victories also include four ATP Masters 1000 crowns. Last November, Sinner, also won the ATP Finals in Turin and the Davis Cup Finals with Italy for a second consecutive year. The best player in the world, an all-round player, is at home on all surfaces and never fails to wow the crowd with his spectacular strokes and fabulous athleticism. Sinner will be the first player after Roger Federer in 2008 to compete in Hamburg as the number one player in the world.
“I’m excited to make my debut at the Hamburg Open, a tournament with a lot of history in our sport. The fans always create a fantastic atmosphere on the beautiful center court. I’m looking forward to playing at Rothenbaum in May and can’t wait to finally visit Hamburg”, said Jannik Sinner about his participation.
Enric Molina Mur, Tournament Director of the Hamburg Open, is delighted with Sinner’s commitment and the tournament’s high-profile line-up: “The participation of Jannik Sinner, the current world number one and three-time Grand Slam winner, is an enormous milestone for our tournament and a historic moment. We are very proud and excited to offer our fans a true tennis festival with Jannik and all the other top players that will no doubt light up the courts.”
