The Hamburg Open 2025 (17 to 24 May) promises to be a real tennis highlight: Stefanos Tsitsipas, another top ten player, has confirmed his participation. The Greek, finalist at the Rothenbaum in 2020, is coming to Hamburg with fresh energy – after his victory at the Dubai Championships at the end of February, the Greek has returned to the top ten in the world rankings. Incidentally, the success in Dubai was Tsitsispas’ first success at an ATP 500 tournament.
‘I have very fond memories of Hamburg. It felt like I was playing at home back then. I’m looking forward to playing at the Rothenbaum again this year,’ said Tsitsipas, who reached the final in 2020 as a crowd favourite. Back then, he was only beaten by Andrey Rublev. The 26-year-old three-time Masters winner also put in a strong performance in 2021 and reached the quarter-finals. The tall right-hander is now set to make his third appearance in Hamburg.
In addition to Tsitsipas, other top players have already confirmed their participation, including world number five Andrey Rublev, Frenchman Gael Monfils, Germany’s number two Jan-Lennard Struff and Danish top talent Holger Rune.
The Hamburg Open 2025 continues to take shape and promises exciting matches and thrilling competitions at the Rothenbaum!
