Rublev, champion of last year’s Mutua Madrid Open, is the third Top-10 player to confirm his participation in the tournament
The Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell – Trofeo Conde de Godó is shaping up a high-level line-up for the next edition of the tournament, which will be held from 12 to 20 April 2025 on the courts of the Real Club de Tenis Barcelona-1899. Carlos Alcaraz and Casper Ruud have already confirmed their participation and another Top-10 ATP player, Andrey Rublev (No.10), has been added to the list. The 27-year-old Russian tennis player is the current champion of the Mutua Madrid Open ATP Masters 1000 and has 16 titles from 26 finals to his name.
Rublev feels very comfortable on all surfaces, but on clay he has already shown that he is very dangerous and is capable of beating the great specialists. He has won six titles on clay, from nine finals played, two of them in the ATP Masters 1000 category (Monte Carlo and Madrid).
Rublev resides in Barcelona, has been a player for RCTB-1899 for nine years, his coach – Fernando Vicente – is also a historic player of the club and, for all these reasons, playing the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell is always very special for him. Tickets to see him play can be purchased through the official website of the tournament (www.barcelonaopenbancsabadell.com), but they will soon sell out as the rate of sales is very high.
