European Open moves to Brussels!

The European Open, Belgium’s largest tennis tournament, is moving to the capital after nine successful editions. From October 12 to 19, 2025, the 10th edition will take place at the ING Arena, the former Palais 12 at Brussels Expo. “This new location allows us to take the tournament to the next level, both for players and fans,” says tournament director Dick Norman.

The organisation is excited to stay in Belgium. Thanks to the support of the City of Brussels and the Brussels-Capital Region, our country remains a key stop on the ATP calendar. The new arena’s central location makes it easy to access for visitors from both Belgium and abroad. Brussels Expo also provides more space, which will enhance the experience and comfort for all fans.

Tennis is experiencing a revival in Belgium. Young talents like Zizou Bergs, Alexander Blockx, and Raphaël Collignon are leading the way. The European Open is the perfect platform to support them and showcase their potential. It brings inspiration and excitement to the players and their fans.

“Brussels offers the ideal setting to help the tournament grow into a top-tier event, giving tennis lovers an unforgettable experience,” Norman adds.

In 2017, Palais 12 hosted a memorable Davis Cup match between Belgium and Australia. Steve Darcis delivered a decisive victory, creating a wave of excitement. That atmosphere is set to return this year, with fans expecting another incredible experience.

The move to Brussels comes together with the celebration of a decade of the European Open, the only ATP 250 tournament in Belgium. It has earned its place on the international tennis calendar.

After impressive performances last year from crowd favorite Zizou Bergs and global star Stéfanos Tsitsipás, tennis fans can look forward to another world-class lineup. In a unique atmosphere and iconic venue, we’ll see who will succeed Spain’s Roberto Bautista Agut as champion.

The European Open stays true to its mission: bringing top-tier sports to Belgium and inspiring the local audience with exceptional tennis.

Mayor of Brussels Philippe Close: “The arrival of the European Open at the ING Arena proves once again that Brussels is the sports capital! This tournament not only puts our city on the world tennis map but also highlights a new generation of Belgian talent.”

Alderman of Sports Florence Frelinx: “The ambition of the organizers perfectly matches the vision I want to promote for sports in Brussels: a vision where every major event has a concrete and tangible impact in our neighborhoods and for our residents. As part of the European Open, several concrete initiatives will be organized to bring tennis beyond the walls of Palais 12 and into the streets, parks, and neighborhoods of Brussels.”

Minister Sven Gatz, responsible for Brussels’ image“Brussels Expo is the perfect location to host this tenth edition of the ATP tournament. It is a great honor for Brussels to welcome world-famous tennis players and offer a high-quality spectacle to all visitors. It is also a new opportunity to show that our exceptional infrastructure perfectly meets the demands of an international event.”

Geoffroy Bourbon, Executive Vice President, ATP Europe: “We are excited to see the European Open enter its next chapter in Brussels. A strong foundation has been built over the years, and we are grateful to the organization for its dedication to tennis and the ATP Tour. The move to the ING Arena presents a fantastic opportunity to elevate the experience for players and fans, and we look forward to seeing the event thrive in its new home in the Belgian capital.”
