Musetti, Monfils and Other Stars Complete Lineup for the Hamburg Open

The player field for the Hamburg Open is set: In addition to commitments from Roland-Garros finalist Alexander Zverev and Danish top star Holger Rune, several other international top players have confirmed their participation in the traditional event, taking place from July 13 to 21 at Rothenbaum.

A familiar face returning to Hamburg is Lorenzo Musetti. The Italian left a lasting impression on the fans at Hallerstraße, having won the tournament two years ago. Musetti triumphed in a thrilling final against Carlos Alcaraz, winning in three sets. The court is sure to see great entertainment with Gael Monfils in action. The Frenchman, a crowd favorite wherever he plays, will be vying for his 13th title in Hamburg.

Sebastián Baez and Francisco Cerúndolo from Argentina are both established world-class players who consistently deliver top performances on clay. Will they also make a splash at Rothenbaum? There is much anticipation for the performance of Arthur Fils. The rising French star, at just 20 years old, is one of the stars of the so-called “Next Gen.” Last year, Fils reached the semifinals, only to be defeated by the eventual winner, Alexander Zverev.

Hamburg spectators can also look forward to seeing Austria’s number one Sebastian Ofner, as well as last year’s finalist, Laszlo Djere from Serbia.

And of course, there are the German singles players who will be competing at Rothenbaum. Besides Germany’s top player Zverev, Dominik Koepfer has received a Wild Card for Hamburg. Currently ranked 70th in the world and now 30 years old, Koepfer played an unforgettable first-round match against Maximilian Marterer at Rothenbaum in 2021, winning in three sets as dusk fell.
