The Russian tennis player (5th ATP), player of the Real Club de Tenis Barcelona-1899, has won 15 titles
The Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell – Trofeo Conde de Godó is preparing an historic edition to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the Real Club de Tenis Barcelona-1899 and adds Andrey Rublev, number 5 on the ATp ranking, to its list of stars. The Russian player, who has been a player of the RCTB-1899 for eight years, has won 15 titles in his career and will be one of the contenders to lift the title alongside the already confirmed Rafa Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz.
At 26 years old, Rublev has established himself as one of the most combative players in the circuit and has played a total of 24 finals. He feels very comfortable on all surfaces, but on clay he has already shown that he is very dangerous and is capable of beating the great specialists. He has won five titles on clay, out of eight finals played, two of them last year at the Monte Carlo Masters 1,000 and at the ATP 250 in Bastad. He started the season strong, winning the title at the ATP 250 in Hong Kong. Rublev resides in Barcelona, he has been a RCTB-1899 player for eight years, his coach –Fernando Vicente- is also an historic player for the club and, for all these reasons, playing the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell is always very special for him.
The tickets to see him play can be purchased through the tournament’s official website (www.barcelonaopenbancsabadell.com), but tickets are selling fast and soon will be sold out.
