David Ferrer announced the final list of the 70th edition of the tournament and confirmed the participation of Daniil Medvedev and Jannik Sinner, among others
The Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell – Trofeo Conde de Godó will celebrate its 70th anniversary with one of the best lineups in its history. To the already announced Rafa Nadal, Carlos Alcaraz, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Casper Ruud, a luxury participation is added, led by the former ATP number one, Daniil Medvedev and by the talented Jannik Sinner. This was confirmed by David Ferrer this Tuesday at a press conference, where he announced a list with 11 of the 18 best in the world and with the cut for the main draw set by Australian Jason Kubler ranked No.70 in the ATP.
The clay of the Real Club de Tenis Barcelona-1899 will have the participation of three players who have reached number 1 in the ATP ranking (Nadal, Alcaraz and Medvedev) and a total of 14 tennis players who have been among the top ten at some point among the best racquets of the world: Casper Ruud (2nd), Stefanos Tsitsipas (3rd), Grigor Dimitrov (3rd), David Goffin (7th), Cameron Norrie (8th), Karen Khachanov (8th), Diego Schwartzman (8th), Roberto Bautista (9th ), Jannik Sinner (9th), Denis Shapovalov (10th) and Pablo Carreño (9th). In addition, eight of the players on the list will play with the advantage of competing at home, on courts that they know very well as they are RCTB-1899 tennis players: Rafa Nadal, Karen Khachanov, Pablo Carreño, Alex Davidovich, Roberto Bautista, Albert Ramos, Pedro Cachín and Jaume Munar. A total of 36 tennis players will enter the main draw directly, five will do so with an invitation (wild card) from the organization and six will qualify from the Qualifying draw.
