TENNIUM CONTINUES GROWING WITH NEW TOURNAMENTS ON THE WTA CIRCUIT

The Barcelona-based tournament manager expects to close 2021 with profits, largely thanks to the expansion of its portfolio of events and the idea is to grow in Latin America and Europe. In a year in which it has debuted as the organiser of the ATP 500 Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell and adjudged its first WTA in Latin America, Tennium will debut with a tournament in Uruguay after consolidating the WTA and ATP events in Buenos Aires. Specifically, it will be a WTA 125 in Montevideo, to be held from 15 to 21 November at the Carrasco Lawn Tennis Club.

It is the first time that Uruguay will host a WTA tournament, and will be held just two weeks after the Argentina Open, which runs from 31 October to 7 November at the Buenos Aires Lawn Tennis Club. This will facilitate the logistics of both events, allowing Tennium to expand in Latin America, where it aims to continue to grow.

The Barcelona-based management company plans to grow with women’s tournaments in Latin America, but also in Spain with the help of Anabel Medina, with whom they have just organised the BBVA Open Internacional de Valencia. The company and the tennis player and captain of the Federation Cup have created a joint venture with a view to further developing this alliance and taking it to other Spanish cities with ITF W80 tournaments, such as the one in Valencia, or even W100 or WTA 125.

TOTAL SUCCESS IN THE BBVA OPEN INTERNATIONAL VALENCIA TOURNAMENT 2021

The BBVA Open International Valencia Tournament, thanks to Anabel Medina and Tennium, brought the best women’s tennis to Valencia. From September 12th to 19th, the Sporting Club Tenis of Valencia witnessed eight days of top-level women’s tennis. The BBVAOpenVal distributed prizes of up to $80,000 among its participants, making it the second most important women’s event in Spain.

Martina Trevisan won the first edition of the BBVA Open International Valencia Tournament by defeating in the final Dalma Galfi by 4-6, 6-4, 6-0 in a thrilling match.

The event bases its philosophy on values such as integration, with exhibitions for blind players, the promotion of female talent and sustainability. Therefore, in collaboration with its main sponsor, BBVA, the tournament has become the first trophy on the calendar to offset its entire carbon footprint.

VICTORIA JIMENEZ KASINTSEVA AND SOLANA SIERRA PLAY QUARTER-FINALS IN THE ITF JUNIOR US OPEN

The world number one in the ITF Junior rankings came from a set down to defeat Bulgaria’s Jana Kolodynska 6-7(5), 6-3, 6-4 in a long and intense match. Vicky will face American Robin Montgomery at 18:00 GMT for a place in the semi-finals of the tournament.

Argentina’s Solana Sierra will also be looking for a ticket to the semi-finals of the US Open Junior after defeating Britain’s Matilda Mutavdzic yesterday in three sets (3-6, 6-4, 7-6) and will face Elvina Kalieva of the United States today at 18:00 GMT. TENNIUM’S ARGENTINA AND MONTEVIDEO OPEN WTA DATES ARE CONFIRMED

The WTA Tour added the date of the Argentina Open WTA 125k to its official calendar, which will take place between October 31 and November 7, at the Buenos Aires Lawn Tennis Club.

The women’s tournament, like the men’s version of the ATP Tour, belongs to and is organized by Tennium, which also joins the women’s circuit with the Montevideo Open, another WTA 125k competition that will be held between November 7 and 15, in the Carrasco Lawn Tennis Club. Thus, Tennium has added two tournaments to the highest level of the international women’s circuit.

“It is very important for Tennium, as a global sports company, to add these two women events to our portfolio, in addition to the one that will be held in Valencia during this month. This shows the solidity of Tennium who adds these tournaments to the management of several of the best players in the world and promising figures, as well as Marta Marrero in paddle”, said Martín Hughes, partner and executive director of Tennium Latin America.
